We are excited to announce that this year’s school show will be Billy Elliot!
Set against the backdrop of the miners’ strike in 1980s England, the story follows Billy as he discovers a passion for dance and courageously challenges expectations, exploring powerful themes of determination and identity.
Any students who would like to be part of this exciting production must attend an after-school meeting 3:40- 4:15 on Monday 24th August in the Theatre, where they will find out all about the audition process and how to get involved. Performers and those looking to help backstage, we are so looking forward to seeing you all there!

Here are all the Gold, Silver and Bronze certificate winners in the SMC maths competition this year. The standard for this competition is very high and these pupils have done exceptionally well to receive these awards.

Sofia De Vita, Emma Boyd and Becca Lawrence all competed at the European Dance Summit in Portugal last weekend and along with their team brought home a Gold, Silver, Bronze and 4th place. Amazing effort with some incredible competition.
We had a brilliant day yesterday at our MasterChef 2026 heats! A fantastic 33 pupils took part across the 2 heats, which was an amazing turnout. It was great to see so many pupils keen to get involved. Every pupil showed great enthusiasm and tried their best throughout the competition. The standard was incredibly high, and we are so proud of everyone who took part.
With such a high standard of cooking, choosing our finalists was tricky as only 7 competitors could progress to the next stage. Congratulations to:
These 7 talented pupils (see photo attached) will compete in Round 1 of the Rotary Schools MasterChef after the Summer holidays. They will each prepare a main course and a dessert of their choice.
A special guest judge will visit the school to taste and judge each dish. From this round, 1 pupil will be selected to progress to Round 2 of the Rotary Schools MasterChef, where they will compete against pupils from other schools and represent Culloden Academy! We wish all 7 finalists the very best of luck and look forward to seeing what they create!

Lucas was given the opportunity to join the Red Lions Squad as part of the U.S Sports Scholarships Track & Field Tour of Oregon 2026.
He got to visit and tour 3 universities including Washington Seattle, Portland and Oregon to experience what life is like as a college athlete. He participated in a 3 day training camp with the University coaches at Oregon and got the opportunity compete in 100m, 200m and relays in the All Comers Meet at the world famous Hayward Field track.

The team has been selected to represent Scotland at the prestigious Allstar World Championship (AIA) in Montreal, Canada this July 2026. This is a remarkable accomplishment, as the event is a global, invitation-only competition, bringing together elite teams from across the world.
Earning a bid to compete at this level requires athletes to perform at an exceptional standard in national competitions, competing against some of the very best teams in the UK. Their qualification reflects an extraordinary level of skill, commitment, and teamwork, developed through years of dedicated training.
These athletes train multiple times per week alongside their school commitments, demonstrating impressive discipline, resilience, and determination.
Representing their country on an international stage is a rare and exciting opportunity, and these pupils will be acting as ambassadors for Inverness as well as their school.
On the 10th of June, two of our pupils were invited to Aberdeen University to receive certificates for winning gold and silver awards in the Scottish Mathematical Council maths challenges.
The theme of this year’s presentation and activities was ‘On really big numbers’ and pupils and their families were entertained and educated at the same time!
Congratulations to Charlotte Thompson S2 for her Gold award and Roni Brady S3 for achieving Silver, both in the Junior competition.
