Christmas Fayre 2025

What a night at Culloden Academy!

A huge thank you to our wonderful local community for making last night’s Christmas Fayre such a special occasion. It may have been cold outside, but the warmth inside the school was incredible – with stallholders, pupils, parents, and friends all coming together to create a fantastic evening.

Raffle Prizes: There are still a few prizes waiting to be collected – please check your mobile messages to see if you’re a winner.

Updates: The Look Fantastic Advent Calendar and Jelly Cat Christmas Tree Lucky Squares still have a few squares left, pop into the school office before Wednesday’s draw to add your name.

Team Effort – We’re so grateful to all the pupils and staff who gave up their time to organise and run the event. Special thanks go to Ms Weir and Mrs Peterkin for their dedication and hard work.

What a brilliant example of community spirit – thank you for helping us make the Christmas Fayre such a success!

Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal 2025

Last week one of our S3 Admin classes handed over 47 boxes and a bag of extras to Neill Prentice, Blythswood Fundraising Manager.

Pupils have done an amazing job of planning, marketing and packing the boxes for the appeal.

Thank you to all of our school community for their donations, which will enable 47 people in Eastern Europe to have the delight of opening a present this Christmas.

Well done everyone.

School Security

An important letter about changes to the security of our school campus has been emailed to all Parents and Carers this morning. A copy is available below.

The changes being implemented must be followed by everyone who uses our school campus. The measures are being introduced to keep all of our young people, staff and school community safe.

World of Work

Last term pupils from the Technology Department visited a World of Work Taster event, organised by DYW at Fort George. They experienced seven hands-on, interactive work tasters from various local businesses.

West Fraser Visit

Our Higher Business Management pupils got the opportunity to improve their understanding of operations management recently, when they visited West Fraser Ltd and received a tour of the site.  The visit also inspired pupils with regards to careers.  A huge thank you to the staff at West Fraser for supporting the school.

Business Management Trip

Last week our three National Business Management classes spent a morning at Johnstons of Elgin, receiving a tour of the mill and an insight into manufacturing and ethical issues which relate to their classroom learning on the Operations topic. Pupils also received a Marketing presentation and came up with some very creative marketing concepts of their own to promote the company’s luxury cashmere and vicuna knitwear. The trip ended with a visit to McDonalds and a great day out was had by all.

Thanks to Johnstons of Elgin for their continued support with this trip each year.

Incident 05 11 2025

Following yesterday’s incident, a letter has been emailed to all parents and carers this morning to provide clarity and reassurance to our community.

Scottish Parliament Trip

We had a fantastic trip to the Scottish Parliament last week to watch FMQs in the chamber with our Modern Studies and Politics seniors. We also spent time with our MSPs asking questions and discussing local issues and all topped off with a little free time in Edinburgh. Our seniors were brilliant and a real credit to both themselves and our school. We even appeared on TV! A brilliant trip, well done everyone.

Mrs Lothian, Mr Gray and Mrs McGonigal.
