At the end of the first week of staff and pupils having to wear facemasks I thought I should update parents/carers about the situation and ask for your help moving forwards. The pupils have been very good about wearing masks but less so about bringing them. Yesterday (Thursday) we handed out over 100 masks and this is absolutely unsustainable- were it not for a kind donation from a local business we would have already run out of the supply that we have which were only meant to be used for medical situations. It is the responsibility of the pupil to bring a mask to support a safe and healthy learning environment and so can I ask as a matter of urgency that all parents check that their child has a facemask when setting out for school. Now that we have had a settling in week we will be noting the names of any pupil who needs a mask and if pupils are repeatedly appearing on the list, we will be making contact directly to ask for your assistance with this measure.
